McDonnell Hardware and Feed proudly serves Tarrant county with a wide variety of farm and ranch supply products, pet foods & supplies, lawn and garden supplies, horse and tack supplies, hay, animal health products, hardware supplies, equipment rentals, and a full service lumber yard. We stand behind the products we sell and the services provided by our knowledgeable staff. When L.L. McDonnell started McDonnell Hardware at our current location in 1972, Keller, Texas was a small community on the outskirts of Fort Worth. More than 40 years later, the current McDonnell Feed & Hardware store has grown from a small country hardware store to a full-service destination for feed, farm and ranch supplies and equipment as well as hardware, tools, building materials and more. L.L. McDonnell came up the hard way through life like so many who were raised during the Great Depression. With little formal education but a wealth of life experience, L.L. (also known as “Papa Mac”) persevered to become a prosperous home builder in this area for thirty years when he opened the original McDonnell Hardware. His then-14 year old grandson, Mark Keel, worked closely by his side helping his grandfather after school, weekends and school breaks. Though Papa Mac never learned to read or write, he spent his days rustling up business for the hardware store while Mark handled product orders and store paperwork. L.L. McDonnell passed away in 1999, leaving a legacy of hard work and a successful business to Mark. Mark Keel and the McDonnell Hardware and Feed family continue to honor L.L.’s philosophy of providing honest, personalized service to our customers. These days, Papa Mac’s great grandchildren work in the store, and you may even meet a great-great granddaughter behind the sales counter. When you visit our store, you still experience the same hometown hospitality that Papa Mac insisted upon years ago. Our product and service offerings have grown through the years to become a primary retail destination for Keller and Northeast Tarrant County. While many things have changed over the years, our mission statement remains the same: we are here for our customers, and without you, we wouldn’t be here. Of course, Papa Mac said it best, “If you say you will do something, do it. If you owe it, pay it. We thank you for your continued business!
