The Chewed Slipper

The Chewed Slipper Bed & BARKfest opened June 2008. As the first dog daycare in Sackville and one of the only cage-free 24 hour live-on-site boarding facilities in HRM, we took a long time to grow our clientele. This afforded us the time to sharpen our skills at ‘dog-reading’.

50,000 hours… that is a conservative number of hours we have logged observing canine behavior.

When you escape for a night or an entire vacation, it is important to have a safe, secure and clean home-away-from home for your dog.

Every night is a puppy sleepover at The Chewed Slipper! We offer an intimate boarding experience for dogs (pre-screened for Daycare suitability) complete with cozy beds inclimate-controlled environment which is fully staffed by Night Watch care providers. Yes, 24 hours a day there is a warm-blooded dog-crazy person here to provide attention to your four-legged kid.

After a full day spent in our boisterous daycare, each boarder is fed individually and then retires to the calm sleeping chambers. As well as enjoying a constant supply of fresh water, each boarder is allowed to ‘do their business’ a few times before calling it a night.

Since 2008, The Chewed Slipper has offered the canine kids of Sackville an opportunity to get their play on while their devoted pup-parents are at work. We recognize that our furkid clients need constant supervision and our pup-parents count on us to be transparent and attentive to their goals and concerns. Even though every day is a PAW-ty, we put SAFETY as our primary focus.
