When Steve Porter purchased Willow Run in 1988, it had already been that place on the hill for ten years, the place where animals are invited and their well-being is the predominant concern. The evolution from traditional feed store to a haven of superior products extends from agriculture to pet and from wild bird to human needs and wants. The extensive line of high caliber wild bird seed, feeders and houses are the essence of Willow Run’s commitment to do it right. Some of the gift lines include pottery from Texas and porcelains from St. Petersburg, Russia that have been in production since 1744. Willow Run also stocks candles from two of the oldest candle companies in America and Lithuanian candle houses that were originally developed as a silent protest against communism. Willow Run is honored to sponsor the Colorado Bureau of Investigation Arson dog and has hosted Working Dog Day to express gratitude to these dedicated animals. This freestanding country store is comfortable and friendly–a place straight from your memories–and offers a welcome relief from the boring sameness that pervades malls across America.
Willow Run’s kennel consists of 15 large indoor runs, all of which are capable of holding 1 large dog or 2 medium dogs. Our canine guests receive a treat each time they go outside. They are outside either alone or with other family dogs at least 3 times a day.
Our cattery has eight large spaces for either one or two cats. The cages and litter boxes are cleaned twice daily. While the morning cleaning is being completed, we allow our visiting felines to exercise in the full cattery area. Cats are only let out by themselves or with family members.
We feed all our guests super premium food and each canine visitor gets digestive enzymes, as well as organic coconut oil on each meal. If you want to bring your own food we can accommodate that as well as any medications or other special needs.
