DJ Nelson has been involved in the pet and aquarium world for quite some time. He started his first pet store, Hodge Podge Pets, in 1995. While this modest Barnet business was great, he soon needed to expand into something bigger.
He decided in 2006 that it was time to expand.
After searching for the right place, he found a spot on Railroad Street in St. Johnsbury. Wanting to be more than Hodge Podge Pets, he relocated in November 2006 and renamed his business AquaRealm Aquarium & Pets.
In 2017, AquaRealm moved across town to their present location on Railroad Street with more parking and more room for the store.
