About Us+
Opened in April 2006, Horses & Hounds, LLC was the first Purina premier dealership to be opened in the Northeast, a full service country feed store and a whole lot more. Catering to all animals, domestic and wild: dogs, cats, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, llamas, cows, rabbits, chickens, hamsters, deer, and wild birds, just to name a few. We have people stuff, too.
Horses & Hounds is a 12,000 square foot full service store that carries dog and cat food and accessories, horse tack, livestock equipment, clothing, and apparel. As a Purina premier dealership we carry the full line of Purina animal feeds including Purina’s Exclusive line of dog and cat feed, as well as Purina’s Mazuri feed line. The Mazuri feed is a specialty feed used at many zoos throughout the country. So, if you need aardvark chow to zebra feed, you’ve come to the right place! We also carry Ultium horse feed, Purina’s competition horse formula feed.

PROFESSIONAL DOG TRAINING
Professional Dog Training
Kim MicHalewicz, Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Knowledge Assessed, of Pawsitive Steps, teaches group classes here at Horses and Hounds. Kim is a long time Granby resident and has been training dogs for over 15 years. She has been training here at Horses and Hounds since 2014. She is also an active member of the Association For Professional Dog Trainers. Her previous teaching experience includes instructing raisers with puppies for Guiding Eyes for the Blind and conducting training classes for Our Companions, a rescue organization out of Manchester.Pawsitive Steps offers both private consultations and group classes. Private lessons can be held here at Horses and Hounds, or in your home. We offer a variety of classes including a Level One/Beginner class, Level II, Tricks for Manners and Canine Good Citizens class.

Come visit the Valley Dog Grooming Salon right in the store at Horses & Hounds! This full service dog grooming salon will meet all your dog’s grooming and styling needs. You can call 860-413-9559 to book your appointment directly. Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are preferred.

Dog Wash+
Self-Service Dog Wash
The K9000 Dog Wash takes the hassle out of bathing your dog at home! Our Dog Wash keeps your dog bathing experience easy and enjoyable! It costs $20 to start the machine and put 15 minutes on the timer ($1 per minute if you need more time). The machine will accept bills of $10, $5, and $1 and/or credit cards. It DOES NOT give change back. Please note, we do not have an ATM machine or give cash back on debit transactions- please come with your change ready to go!
**The Dog Wash has its own heated room at the end of our porch; it is NOT inside our building. It is open 24/7! The door may stick sometimes but it is never locked! Please note, we can only answer questions about The Dog Wash during our normal business hours. ** -
