Cat Food Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ

1 What is the difference between your dry product lines for cats?
We currently have 2 product lines for cats: Gold Nutritionals®, and Four-Star Nutritionals®. All of our dry products for cats utilize top quality human-grade USDA inspected ingredients with added vitamins and minerals.
  1. Our Gold Nutritionals® line is formulated with multiple fresh protein sources including fresh duck, fresh chicken, salmon, and fresh liver. The Gold Nutritionals® line includes formulas for adult cats, senior cats, weight loss, and kittens.
  2. Four-Star Nutritionals® is all about variety. Each recipe is formulated for all life stages and is suitable for kittens, adults, senior, and lactating cats. Because each recipe has a similar blend of fresh fruits, vegetables, brown rice, and potatoes it is encouraged to switch between each variety monthly, weekly, or even daily.

Yes, all of our cat foods are considered holistic. This includes Gold Nutritionals® and Four-Star Nutritionals® product lines. 3 How do you recommend switching cat food to Fromm from another brand?
If possible switch the food gradually, over a period of a week or so. Start with a mixture of 25% Fromm and 75% of your old food and feed that for two or three days, then step it up to 50%-50%, and finally end up with a combo of 75% Fromm, 25% old food. If you don't detect any changes in your cats’ digestion over the week's time, you can start feeding Fromm exclusively. – If you cannot switch the food gradually it is OK to start feeding Fromm exclusively, but allow a short period of time for your cat to become acclimated to the new food. If your cat has a sensitive stomach/stomach irritability it is recommended to switch over a longer period of time (2-4 weeks.)

11 Do you use menadione sodium bisulfate (a source of Vitamin K activity) in any of your cat foods?
No we do not use menadione sodium bisulfate in any of our products. We eliminated the use of menadione sodium bisulfate in the winter of 2005. 12 Do you use wheat gluten, rice gluten or rice protein concentrates in any of your cat foods?
No, we do not use wheat gluten, rice gluten or rice protein concentrates in any of our products, including our canned foods. Wheat gluten is frequently used by other companies in their canned pet food to make a manufactured meat substitute product that can be made to look like chunks and slices or dices of real meat from lower quality meats or inedible (not fit for human consumption) meat by-products. If you see a rubbery chunk of meat in any canned pet food it is likely to be a piece of reformed meat made with wheat gluten. Rest assured, when you open one of our cans, you will only see real cuts of whole meat and vegetables.
